Here’s how your thinking creates your life and how to control it.
If you are bored or frustrated about life, your growth, your skill level, your work or workmates; if you hold resentment about someone or something; if you find yourself stiffening up in resistance when a particular person is around – then change your mind!
All these negative thoughts you hold go out and affect every aspect of your business and your life. If you can’t get yourself into a positive state, then start writing daily in a gratitude journal. This should begin to help you see the many positives around you. If you are not sure what you are thinking, examine your feelings. Positive constructive thoughts make you feel good. Negative thoughts, or thoughts not in alignment with your goals, make you feel bad.
That is why we ask you to get yourself into a positive state, decide on what you want, and to visualise it every day. This puts you into a positive, enthusiastic vibration that can attract the people, circumstances and events that you need to create what you are visualising.
When we think positively about the future, when we have hope of improvement, even a little bit of hope heads you in the right direction – towards what you want and not what you don’t want. When we believe in ourselves and our ultimate right to abundance we find that our thinking creates an energy that does make a difference in our lives and the world around us.
Unfortunately it is so much easier to talk about it than to walk the talk. It will help you see how your life unfolds according to what you draw to it, as dictated by your consciousness and thoughts, if you learn to become aware of your feelings. Your feelings are a great indicator of how you have been thinking. When you have the Intent of focus to stay in creating the positive you will find endless abundance begin manifesting in your life.
Savvy Strategies That Will Change Your Life
Firstly we recommend you begin a Gratitude Journal in which you write every night those 5 – 10 things you feel grateful for. Write down anything large or small that makes you smile, including terrific achievements, touching moments and great relationships. It sends you to sleep in a positive frame of mind so your subconscious can begin attracting to you more positive circumstances and people.
That’s also why we recommend you create and regularly look at your Dream book or Dream board (some people call it a Vision Board). It helps you stay focused on the life you’d like to be living, and gives you easy pictures to visualise as you go about your day or in your meditation.
Now if you really want to create changes in your life and your business, do a 30 Day Mental Fast. It’s one of the simplest ways to transform your thinking, and you will begin to notice how negative you and others are. That’s how you change your life, by becoming aware of your thoughts and the influence of others at a very deep level. This 30 Day Mental Fast can do it! I challenge you to follow these Instructions for 30 Days! Your results will transform your life.
Emotions are indicators of thought energy. and thoughts fuel the creation of the image being held in our minds. For example, if we worry about something all the time, it is a way of focusing on a particular thing or idea (the thought) that will manifest in that way. Thus, worry is a prayer for something one does not want, an internal negative energy that attracts more of what we don’t want. To avoid undesirable outcomes, we must learn to control our thoughts especially when we are under emotional stress. Instead of worrying, we can replace such negative energy and thought-forms with a positive visual image of the desired outcome.
One of the ways negative energy can harm you is when you harbour it for long periods of time and it accumulates and becomes lodged in your body. These energies are dense and vibrate at a level too low for the body to process and release. As a result, they become blocked and crystallised, manifesting at best as diminished stamina, loss of energy, or decreased mobility, at worst as disease.
In the course of our lives we may be bombarded with negative thoughts, energies or scenarios that may come not only from within us but also from outside ourselves or from others. All around us is a network of people, businesses, governments, publications, movies and music, all telling us what has been going on; or what they think is best for us; what we should buy and do; or what we should think about something. As soon as we tune into the radio, television, or open a magazine, it all jumps out at us.
Our minds can be come a sponge of these thoughts and desires or even criticisms, which then become a part of our own unconscious beliefs if we are not careful. These thoughts become beacons sending electrical currents which, although unseen, can be felt and they constantly produce internal and external effects. We are both receiving and sending stations of such energies. These thoughts and vibrations can affect the quality of our lives, goals, and the way we think about ourselves. Therefore, to ensure our own success and happiness in life, we must learn how to protect ourselves from these outside influences of negative thoughts or actions that may come from or are caused by others.
To avoid being overly influenced by the media, we need to both be discerning in what we expose ourselves to and also make sure we have the time to raise our own consciousness enough to discriminate between what is truly needed for our own happiness, and what is merely an affect of external outside forces being dumped on us. On a personal level, the more prominent you become in society the more people will focus their thoughts and energies on you. Some people may simply be envious of you, and unknowingly become emotional vampires. So as you grow in this business, so will more energies flow to and from you.
By taking responsibility for yourself and your thinking process, you can make your life more positive and uplifting, and at the same time reduce or negate the influence of any hurt or negative energies you encounter. Throughout the day, notice how every word you hear and every action you witness is either an expression of love or a cry for love. This love is the essence of happiness. And in all actions that people perform, their primary purpose is to find the means by which they can love and be loved, whether they realise it or not. Besides food, shelter and clothing, love and happiness is the greatest need of all living beings. It is the essential nature of the soul, and the basis of everyone’s outer actions and desires.
Every moment you have a choice – to be at peace or to be in resistance. When you are at peace you attract positive energy and when you resist you create negative vibes that reflect back on your being. It’s a simple choice and yet most people unconsciously choose to live in negativity. It’s not your boss, colleagues, parents, ex or the traffic, but your own perception that creates stress and negative energy. Circumstances are neutral. You will generate positive vibes when your inner state is one of alignment and congruence, instead of being resistant.
Here are a few tips to attract positive energy by staying in touch with your inner peace and stillness:
Start Your Day With Meditation
Any form of meditation is helpful but it’s best to keep it simple. Just practice the meditation of becoming aware of your presence. You don’t have to sit in any strident posture, just relax and feel your consciousness or presence in the midst of the thoughts and emotions. Practice being a loving presence for everyone, and observe the changes that occur in yourself and those around you. We need to think and act in dynamic and positive ways and hold a love for ourselves in order to feel a sense of completeness and happiness in who we are. This is a very powerful practice that creates a positive vibe throughout the body.
When Your Meditate, Build A Protective Energy Around You
The highest protection we can provide for ourselves is a solid sense of love and compassion for ourselves and others. Without enough love from within, you will lack the necessary armour to protect yourself from the relentless attacks of external or internal negative energy. Also, practice carrying your own atmosphere with you. In other words, keep that loving presence with you. For example, meditate on being in a sacred place and the feeling or consciousness you have while there. Now be absorbed in and project that atmosphere out around you wherever you are, and to others nearby. As such, you can be your own temple. In this way, when around people of negative energy, you can concentrate on sharing your own positive energy rather than absorbing theirs. In this way, you also create a protective barrier around yourself while maintaining a kind and friendly attitude.
Treat Everyone the Way You Want to be Treated
A day is easily ruined when you start holding resentment against someone. When you see others as having the same challenges and fears as yourself you will not harbour negative feelings towards them. All negative or positive feelings attract the same back to you multiplied and so when you only accept the positive in turn your attitude will attract positive energy and impact yourself and the people around you.
When we think we have been hurt by someone in the past, we build up defenses to protect ourselves from being hurt in the future. So the fearful past causes us to recreate it. Love is letting Go of Fear, Gerald Jampolsky, M.D. illustrates the art of personal transformation through letting go of the past. Edgy, humorous, informative and life changing, this book challenges what we know about what we put into our minds and what comes out of our mouths. I read it over twenty years ago and gave it to all my friends as a gift for years.
Let Go of Your Need to Control
Life is a flux and its nature is change. The more you resist the more you will suffer. Whenever you try to control a life situation, you will feel stressed out and this will generate a lot of negative energy. Just imagine life to be a raging river, does it serve any purpose to struggle? Wouldn’t it be much more relaxing and peaceful if you just let go and allow yourself to float with the flow? People who stay surrendered and relaxed generate a lot of positive energy and attract the grace of life.
See the Positive in Every Situation
Know that good and bad are just perceptions created in the conditioned mind. In reality every life situation gives you the opportunity to choose to see it positively or negatively. Remember the ancient Chinese adage: … “could be good … could be bad”. You cannot look forward to the future to see if what is happening now is not the best thing for you. Just believe in the infinite goodness of life, and ask yourself “What good will come out of this?” and believe there is some. When you see every situation with this innocence, it will reveal its grace to you. Books I recommend: “The Power of Positive Thinking” by Norman Vincent Peale and “Man’s Search for Meaning” by Viktor E. Frankl.
Visualize a Peaceful, Harmonious Life
Your mind might be addicted to negative thinking, most minds are. You will have to consciously break out of this addiction if you want to attract positive energy within and to you. Stay consciously aware of your thoughts and see your mind churning out fearful images. Notice then and take control, stop thinking these thoughts, focus your attention on visualising a peaceful, harmonious or joy filled flow of life’s circumstances. Learn to turn you ‘boat’ downstream. You will be amazed at the change of positive vibes you feel in your body.
Stop Worrying About the Future
Worry has not served any purpose to this date for anyone. Worry is like trying to force your boat upstream against the raging torrent of life. Whatever has to happen will happen, there is nothing you will achieve by worrying about it. In fact what you worry about will not even happen most of the times, so why waste energy dwelling on worries? You are unconsciously creating a lot of negative energy inside you which is harmful to your whole being. Just plan practically, take positive actions and leave the rest to life. If you haven’t read “How To Stop Worrying And Start Living” By Dale Carnegie then download it and read it now!
Drop the Resentment Within
The past is past, it has no more reality than as a memory trace. The only person resentment affects is the person feeling it. Again it is turning your boat into the torrent instead of flowing downstream in peace. After all if you don’t continuously think up a bad memory you will not feel any resentment and the resistance you feel towards that person will dissipate immediately. The three ‘Rs’: resentment, resistance, revenge are three of the most damaging everyday emotions in the world today. So just learn to forgive and move on. There is a lot positive energy in the simple act of forgiveness.
Unforgiveness is one of the single most important things to deal with in our lives if we want to experience spiritual freedom! Holding bitterness in our hearts opens us up to so much more negative energy and it is often because there is unforgiveness that needs to be dealt with. A powerful book, “The Bait of Satan” by John Bevere is a very Christian based book but anybody who’s been offended, hurt, becomes offended easily, struggles with bitterness or unforgiveness would be advised to get and read this book to see the negative impact this feeling is creating. Changing this habit is nothing short of life changing, and the book is worth reading even if you don’t struggle with bitterness or become easily offended.
Look at the Nature Around You
If you want to attract positive energy just look at the quietness of nature for a while. A tree or a flower, it just rests in stillness and moves with the wind. Look at the water that flows gently past. There is a peace that radiates from the very being of nature when it is quiet. This peace will ignite your own inner true nature of stillness, if you spend but a little time each day or each week, taking it in.
Feel the Spaciousness in Your Body – And Develop Positive Energy
Just close your eyes and try to feel your body from within. You will be surprised at the spaciousness of your body. It feels like a lot of empty space with a few sensations here and there. Now imagine a tennis ball sized ball of energy in your tummy, this energy can be whatever colour you chose, pink or blue or green, purple etc. I often use golden yellow or bright white. Imagine you can see the ball in your tummy and feel its energy, (good strong, loving protective healing energy). Imagine the ball grows bigger until it fills your entire body (head to toes) then imagine the energy growing outside your body as well as inside, going to about 10 centrimetres around your body (egg shaped). Focus on feeling protected and safe, knowing that only good is being attracted to you. This inner body realisation will free up any stored negative energy. After a few moments of inner body realisation you will feel light and at ease.
Protect your energy.
The expression energy leaches is a simplistic way of describing people who drain and use your energy rather than use their own. Imagine having a great day, feeling fine and well with your day planned out and plenty of energy to do what you wish to do. You decide to meet a friend at a café for coffee, as your friend approaches you notice he/she is looking tired and listless maybe a bit pale. During the hour you are together you chat and your friend seems to become brighter, more alert and a little more cheerful, and by the time you leave the café, your friend is quite bubbly while your own energy has dwindled and you are feeling less enthusiastic than you previously had been.
Most people are not even aware they are draining your energy while others set out to deliberately have a negative effect on the energy of another person. Be aware of when this occurs and protect yourself by providing a protective shield around yourself. Protecting yourself and your energy is paramount to a healthy exchange of energies between people, I find that even on an “every day” basis, energy exchanges can leave a person feeling exhilarated, sad, lonely, depressed or tired. The more sensitive a person is the more they feel the drain from another person’s energy field so take steps to build your own energy and protect yourself.
Consider what researchers found about the benefits of staying positive:
- People who were pessimistic had a nearly 20 percent higher risk of dying over a 30-year period than those who were optimistic
- People who kept track of their gratitude once a week were more upbeat and had fewer physical complaints than others
- People who obsessively repeated negative thoughts and behaviors were able to change their unhealthy patterns—and their brain activity actually changed too.
